The North Texas region prepares for a week packed with cultural, athletic, and seasonal events, culminating in a multi-day display that will transform a Plano field into a tribute to local service members.
From November 7 to 14, more than 1,000 American flags will fill Oak Point Event Field in Plano for the Plano Flags of Honor 2026 event. Each flag in the installation represents an individual honored for their service and sacrifice as a veteran or first responder. The display serves as a central visual anchor for the week's activities in the area.
Earlier in the week, competition and commerce take precedence. The Pickleball World Championships run from November 2 through November 8 at Brookhaven Country Club in Farmers Branch. The event features both amateur and professional matches, alongside clinics, celebrity games, and live music. In McKinney, the Avara Holiday Pop-up Shop occupies the historic Bingham Estate from November 4 to 8. Visitors can participate in free open-play mahjong hosted by Bam Bird on Thursday and Friday, or book a $10 family photo mini session during the weekend.
Live performances and food festivals dominate the mid-week schedule. The hard rock band Quiet Riot performs at the Lexus Box Garden at Legacy Hall in Plano on November 5. The group is known for tracks such as "Cum On Feel the Noize" and "Metal Health." On November 7, the Plano Food + Wine Festival returns to Legacy West, offering attendees samples of local cuisine and wine. That same day, the 8th Annual Merry Market opens at 3R's Ranch in Prosper, featuring handmade gifts and boutique clothing from local vendors.
Frisco hosts the Chalk the Park event on November 7 at Kaleidoscope Park. Chalk artists compete to transform the park's sidewalks into large-scale artworks. Meanwhile, the 22nd annual Plano Archeology Fair takes place at Haggard Park, offering demonstrations of flintknapping and performances by Native American artists. In The Colony, School of Rock celebrates its fifth anniversary on November 7 with student performances and a food truck lineup to support the NTX Food Pantry.
Addison hosts its inaugural Full Circle Film Festival on November 7 and 8 at the Addison Performing Arts Centre. The festival showcases independent films from Texas-based filmmakers. Long-running attractions also continue. The Light Park at Riders Field in Frisco remains open until January 3, offering a mile-long drive-through experience with illuminated displays and synchronized music. Additionally, the Crow Museum of Asian Art in Dallas opened an exhibition titled Twisted, Plaited, Sculpted on November 7. The show features 22 works by 17 Japanese artists, including Living National Treasures Fujinuma Noboru and Fujitsuka Shosei, and runs through October 17, 2027.
