Texas A&M football fans get a break this week. The Aggies are off in Week 9 after a 31-20 loss at Alabama in Week 8, where they held a lead before falling on the road. Their next game is Nov. 7 at South Carolina, kicking off at 2 p.m. on ESPN.

The season record stands at 4-4 overall and 1-4 in SEC play. Texas A&M opened with wins over Missouri State (50-0) and Arizona State (48-20), then dropped three straight to Kentucky (31-21), LSU (35-6) and Missouri (27-6). The Aggies beat Arkansas 34-7 and The Citadel 41-0 before the Alabama loss.

A&M was ranked in the top 10 early in the year and returned several players from the 2025 College Football Playoff squad. The results since have not matched that preseason positioning, with setbacks against LSU and Missouri among the losses on the schedule.

The remaining slate includes No. 16 Tennessee at home Nov. 14 (time to be announced), at Oklahoma on Nov. 21 (time to be announced), and the regular-season finale against No. 11 Texas on Dec. 5 at 6:30 p.m. on ABC. A&M is 1-4 in conference play heading into that stretch.

Tennessee visits Kyle Field at 6-2 overall and 3-2 in the SEC. Texas enters the final week at a point where a loss would damage its postseason position.

Texas A&M is not currently included in most major bowl projections, and the program would need additional wins to become bowl eligible. The Nov. 7 game at South Carolina is the next opportunity to add one.
