The Aubrey football team scored 70 points in its 70-40 victory over Alvarado on Saturday, marking the highest total of the season and securing the program's first district title since 2023.
The Chaparrals' offensive production was the defining factor in the contest. The team accumulated 610 total yards, with the ground game accounting for 483 of those yards. This statistical dominance allowed Aubrey to establish a 49-7 lead early in the third quarter, a margin that Alvarado attempted to close in the second half but failed to eliminate.
Senior running back Corbin Frazier led the ground attack with a team-high 183 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries. Junior athlete Riley Lemons provided support on the defensive side, recording six tackles, five of which were solo, along with one interception and a forced fumble.
The 70-point total places Aubrey among the top scoring efforts in the Denton area for Week 10. Other local teams also posted high scores while battling for playoff positioning. Pilot Point defeated Dallas A-Plus Academy 58-6, while Guyer beat Flower Mound Marcus 58-14.
Pilot Point's offensive performance was driven by junior running back Hastings Fischer. He rushed for 102 yards and three touchdowns on just five carries and caught a 72-yard touchdown pass. All five of his scores came in the first half, helping the Bearcats build a 52-0 halftime lead. Senior defensive lineman Malik Lars contributed two fumble recoveries, including one on the opponent's first play from scrimmage, which initiated a scoring run on Pilot Point's first three offensive possessions.
In Guyer's win over Marcus, junior wide receiver Tristan Shelton caught four passes for 86 yards and two touchdowns. Five different Wildcats reached the end zone during the game.
Argyle's 66-7 victory over Nevada Community featured a strong return for junior quarterback Hayes Hackney. After a one-game absence, the UIL state executive committee ruled him eligible to play. Hackney completed 17 of 24 passes for 305 yards and four touchdowns in one half of action. Senior wide receiver Julian Caldwell, a Texas Tech commit, caught 10 passes for 205 yards and one touchdown, marking his third 200-yard receiving game of the season.
