Daylight arrives earlier this week following the weekend time change, setting the stage for a warm start before weather patterns shift. Monday offers a dry window for outdoor activities despite mostly cloudy skies, with rain chances sitting between 10 percent and 20 percent.

Temperatures will rise from the 60s and 70s in the morning to a peak of 80 degrees by afternoon. The day remains humid and breezy, providing a final opportunity for yard work or sports practices before moisture builds. This mild stretch follows heavy Halloween downpours that recently affected the region.

Water levels along West Hobolochitto Creek in Pearl River County have dropped below flood stage after the recent rain. While rivers are improving, Hancock County remains under a Coastal Flood Advisory for Monday morning. Residents should expect minor saltwater splashover on low-lying roads around high tide.

Mississippi Forestry Commission burn bans continue in effect for Harrison and Stone counties despite the recent localized rainfall. Officials advise residents to avoid all outdoor burning until the bans are lifted. These restrictions remain in place as the state prepares for the next weather system.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms become more likely beginning Tuesday and continuing through Wednesday as moisture builds ahead of a strong cold front. The front is scheduled to sweep across South Mississippi Wednesday evening, cutting off the rain. This shift will usher in a noticeable drop in humidity, bringing crisp, dry air and sunshine for late week and the upcoming weekend.
